Getting started

What you need

macOS 14 Sonoma or later.

Download

Right after purchase you’ll get an email with your license key and download link. You can also download Supermac any time by logging in to the customer portal.

Install and first launch

Move Supermac to your Applications folder and open it from there. Open Supermac with its shortcut, then type: apps, math, emoji and window snapping answer from the same field.

AI chat uses your own key. Connect a provider such as OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, Google Gemini or xAI Grok with your own API key, or run a local model through Ollama or LM Studio.

Permissions macOS asks for

Supermac controls parts of your Mac, such as windows, apps and files, when you ask it to. macOS asks you to approve this kind of access. Click Allow when it asks. You can review or change these choices any time in System Settings → Privacy & Security.

Activating your license

Where your license comes from

Your license key arrives in the email you get right after purchase, together with your download link. You can also find your license and activations in the customer portal.

How to activate

Activate Supermac in the app with the license key from your email. Supermac checks your key and an activation for this Mac with our licensing service at releaseflow.net, so your Mac needs to be online while you activate.

How many Macs

One license covers up to 3 Macs that you own or control. The license is personal: don’t share, resell or publish your license key.

Moving to a new Mac

Deactivate the old Mac in the customer portal to free up a slot, then activate Supermac on the new Mac with the same license key. You can deactivate a Mac at any time.

Updates

Your license includes the beta and all 1.x updates. Supermac checks an update feed hosted on releaseflow.net for new versions. You can also download the latest Supermac from the customer portal at any time.

Every build is listed on the changelog. Features marked “Coming in 1.x, included” on the Features page arrive in updates at no extra cost.

Troubleshooting

Supermac won’t open or macOS blocks it

• Check that your Mac runs macOS 14 Sonoma or later (Apple menu → About This Mac).
• Download Supermac again from your purchase email or the customer portal, rather than using a copy from somewhere else.
• If macOS says it can’t open Supermac, open System Settings → Privacy & Security. If Supermac is listed under Security, click Open Anyway.

My license won’t activate

• Copy the license key from your purchase email and paste it in full, without extra spaces.
• Make sure your Mac is online. Activation is checked with releaseflow.net.
• Already using Supermac on 3 Macs? Deactivate one in the customer portal to free up a slot.
• Can’t find the email? Log in to the customer portal.

I didn’t grant a permission

Open System Settings → Privacy & Security, open the section the feature needs and turn Supermac on. If it is already on but the feature still doesn’t work, turn it off and on again, then quit and reopen Supermac.

A feature isn’t working

• Get the latest version from the customer portal.
• Check the permissions above.
• AI chat needs a provider connected with your own API key, or a local model through Ollama or LM Studio.
• On-device translation needs macOS 26 or later. On earlier versions, translate with your AI model instead.
• Still broken? Email [email protected] with your Supermac version, your macOS version, the steps that cause it and a screenshot if you can.

Billing and refunds

Supermac is a one-time purchase, not a subscription. Purchases are processed by Polar, our merchant of record, which also handles sales tax and VAT.

Your receipt

Polar sends your receipt to the email you used at checkout. Can’t find it? Email [email protected] from that address.

Refunds

Full refund within 7 days of purchase, no questions asked.

To ask for one, email [email protected] from the email you used at checkout. Refunds are issued through Polar.
